Toast to Scotland

The Tour of Scotland in poetry and song was written and narrated by Malcolm Ferguson, Junior Vice President, who compered the event and also recited.

Ramsay Syme and Jean Kerr led the company in singing a variety of Scots songs.

Readings were given by Andy Moynihan, Bill Duncan, Robbie McMahon, John Hutcheson (who also played his bagpipes), Bill Kerr, Margaret Skilling and Tommy Kerr.

Martin Cassidy sang and played guitar.

Archie and David Graham, a grandfather and grandson duo, provided keyboard and accordion accompaniment.

It was a most enjoyable evening.

Outing to Alloway Burns Country

Included the Batchelor’s Club in Tarbolton, the roadside cairn at Mossgiel, Gavin Hamilton’s house at Mauchline, the Burns mural in New Cumnock and the Afton Water cairn.

Anniversary Dinner

Held at Brig o'Doon Hotel, Alloway.

The Immortal memory was by Mr.Donald Reid from Beith, a well known Burnsian and author.

The Toast to the Lasses was given by Mr Peter Macdonald and the reply by Jennifer McFadzean.

Musical items were provided by Miss Gemma McSheffrey and Mr. Sam MacAulay, and recitations were performed by other Club members.
